Mystery at the Kids’ Museum

The local museum is holding a public exhibition of wax figures, to show kids what Genghis Khan, Amelia Earhart, and other historical characters looked like. What the public doesn’t see is that the characters come to life every evening and party until dawn, when they turn back to statues. It’s all due to the ancient 'Wand of Vitality” that is also on display.

One night, the party is interrupted by a blackout. When the dim emergency lights come on, there are sudden screams. "The Wand is missing from its case! Someone hid it so only they can use it! If it isn't back by dawn, the rest of us are doomed to be statues forever!"

Whodunit? Was it someone who wanted to create new armies? Someone who wanted to go out into the world and do more of what made them famous? Someone who wanted to sell it for a fortune? Or maybe it was—YOU!

Quelle est la meilleure murder party sur le thème Musée pour enfants ?

A kids' museum-themed mystery game is an exciting way to mix fun, teamwork, and imagination. Set inside a fictional children's museum or discovery center, the game invites players to solve a puzzling mystery—like a missing artifact, a sabotaged science exhibit, or a nighttime prank gone too far. With kid-friendly clues, curious characters, and a playful setting full of imagination, this game is perfect for young detectives who love solving problems, working together, and learning through roleplay.

This game is designed primarily for in-person events, where kids can move around, interact, and explore clues in a shared space. It works wonderfully in classrooms, museum workshops, party rooms, or homes. However, it can be adapted for virtual play with adult assistance—especially if clues and character sheets are shared in advance and the game is simplified for remote participation.

Combien de temps dure cette murder party Musée pour enfants ?

The game typically takes between 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the number of players and how much your group gets into the roleplay and dialogue. For 10 players, expect about two hours of gameplay. This game is perfect for birthday parties, classroom enrichment, museum family days, after-school programs, scout groups, or rainy day activities at home. It works well for any group of children who enjoy creativity, teamwork, and pretend play—especially in a setting that encourages learning, like a science center or museum.

The game is recommended for ages 10 up. It’s designed with simple reading levels, clear objectives, and age-appropriate language. Younger children may need some adult help with reading or understanding clues, while older kids will enjoy the social deduction and the imaginative roles. It’s a great fit for both mixed-age groups and grade-level classrooms.

Les joueurs doivent-ils se déguiser pour cette murder party Musée pour enfants ?

Costumes are optional but can add to the fun. Players might choose to dress as explorers, curators, detectives, or museum staff. We used this for my son’s birthday, ages 6-12 and it went great! The directions were easy to understand and it went smoothly. All the kids had a blast!

My daughter had such a fun 11th birthday with her friends. Her friends understood the assignment. They came dressed in character and ready to solve the mystery at the museum.

The kids loved it. We put the young girl who played Marie Curie in a white lab coat and hung green glow sticks underneath to make her glow. It was fabulous.

This afternoon we hosted a Mystery at the Museum party with 12 girls for our daughter's 12th birthday and it was a massive hit!! Our daughter initially wanted an Escape Room but there were too many children to all be together so we found this online. I would recommend reading through everything and taking the time to understand it all yourself beforehand but it was such a great party! The girls all thoroughly enjoyed researching and dressing as their character and absolutely loved the scripted game! Would highly recommend!!

Customer photo review of Kids Murder Mystery Game Kit - Mystery At The Museum

After hosting several murder mysteries (that our children really couldn't participate in) we were SO excited to find one for our girls! Our three oldest (12, 11 and 8) and eleven of their friends embraced their characters, researched, learned a lot about history and laughed a half day away playing Mystery at the Museum. This one played a tad bit differently than some of the adult games, so I was glad I read through most of it to begin with to really familiarize. I read the inspector scripts myself and knew who the thief was so I could coach a teensy bit if needed. Really all the girls did well with the scripts and their parts and the gossip portion was hilarious. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely look for another kid mystery!

Birthday party.

Eleven yr old girls Bithrday party and it was a huge hit. I ended up buying the 20 person so they had enough female charaters to choose from. They wore costumes, had props like gilter test tubes, crowns, googles etc. We put up "portraits" of each charater so they could see the real person and they all wanted to take theirs home. We put a wand in a old suitcase and my daughter picked things form around the house to make other historic displays- thor's hammer, a golden dog statue, fancy necklace, crystal goblet etc and she made museum tags for them like the wand label. I also ordered a eygptian photo backdrop that I hung on my curitan rods to make the room feel like a museum. They had a wonderful time and really got into it. Queen Victoria even used an accent!

My 11 yo daughter wanted this for her birthday party. I bought some props and costume elements for each character - we had quite a lot that was just around the house that we used. You don't have to have costumes though! You could even just use name tags, if you are pressed for time and/or money. The girls all had a great time. The girl that was assigned to Edward Teach even crocheted her own parrot! It was incredible. One suggestion I have is for the host to do a dry run through the entire script with a couple of the character's scripts well before the party so you can fully understand how it all works. Have fun with it!

Customer photo review of Kids Murder Mystery Game Kit - Mystery At The Museum

This captured the attention of fifteen 10-year old girls for a full 2 hours. Everyone had a blast learning a little history, getting into character, and playing their role. We did a dry run as a family to understand how it would go (super helpful). This is such a cool and different birthday party idea - highly recommend!!

Customer photo review of Kids Murder Mystery Game Kit - Mystery At The Museum

My kids loved doing all of it. They loved the characters and had such a fun night together.

The kids loved it! At first we had a little confusion about how it works, but then we figured it out and some kids really performed their roles at some point.

Everything was great! I had purchased a different one of your games prior to this purchase and this one did not disappoint! I have been so pleased with the creativity and organization that went into your product. Everyone loved it...again!

This was a wonderful and memorable birthday! Everyone appreciated it was something different. We had nine 9 year old boys at the party and went for a bigger set so we could have more male characters. The kids got really into it! With that age (and gender), at least one adult definitely needed to be heavily involved to help keep the game on track- which was fine, we had planned for that. It took us a little under 2 hours with adult facilitation. Will definitely look at other games for future birthdays!

It was great! Many character choices and worked well for a 12 person bday party for an 11 yr old.

11 year old daughter’s birthday party. The girls had a blast dressing up, and everyone was able to come up with costumes around their house so they didn’t have to spend extra money! Game was just long enough to keep their attention but not too long to bore them! Good times had by all!

We absolutely loved this Mystery at the Museum game for my daughter’s birthday party! It was incredibly easy to follow, simple to print, and straightforward to set up. Everything was organized in a way that made hosting feel stress-free. We had 7 girls, ages 9–10, and it took us about an hour and a half to work through it at a relaxed pace. The script was very safe and age-appropriate — a fun and engaging mystery without any murder or gore, which I really appreciated for this age group. I went all out and decorated our downstairs like a museum using “artifacts” I found at Goodwill, which made it even more immersive. The girls all arrived in character (some even using accents!), and they stayed engaged and excited the entire time. To add to the theme, we set up an “Elixir Lab” dirty soda bar and a “Curator’s Concoction” trail mix bar, which the girls absolutely loved. It made them feel like they were truly part of the museum world and added such a creative, interactive element to the party. If I do something similar again, I may add in some puzzles, scavenger hunts, or mystery activities for the group to do beyond the script, so there can be more of a challenge. It was such a unique and memorable experience. I would absolutely recommend this game to anyone looking for an engaging, imaginative, and age-appropriate party activity!

the kids seemed to enjoy the mystery and the characters, however the length was a bit much for our class, which was compounded by snow days so the story was more difficult to follow. we also ended up with 3 "bad guys" as the letter method was to objective on what was the letter U. I think the got U and N mixed up but I'm not sure where the 3rd on came in.

We have not used the game yet. we are saving it for Boxing Day when our family will all be together. We range from 8-76 and there are 11 of us. We ordered the game early so that we can shop for the costumes throughout the year. We live in the UK and this is the first game of this sort that we have seen that is for all age ranges. We will let you know how the evening goes, meanwhile we are happily hunting in Charity Shop, think they are known as Thrift shops in the USA, for our costumes. A happy Grandma and Grandpa

I used it to hold my daughter’s 12 year old birthday party. 15 girls! They had a ball! So did I

6 adults and 2 children played. We each bought fancy dress from Amazon. All got into character and we had a fabulous time. We made forever family memories ❤️

We had a fantastic time with this mystery party game! The kids were fully engaged and had a total blast trying to solve the case. One thing to note for future buyers is that there is quite a bit of reading involved, so it helps to have players who are comfortable reading or a host willing to assist younger kids. If I could suggest one improvement for the creator, it would be to add a bit more interactivity—such as clues that need to be physically acted out, or specific clues hidden around the room that directly reveal details about the thief. Overall, it made for a really fun party activity, and I’d definitely recommend it!

I did this for my granddaughter‘s 11th birthday. Everybody had so much fun. I highly recommend it.

Es hat viel Spaß gemacht!

We purchasrd this for my daughter's 11th birthday party. Everyone found it fun, and they came up with great costumes!

Fun for family members from 7-74!! Thank you so much!

We did it as a homeschool history activity with several families and it was really fun!

Great fun for my 11 year olds birthday party.

N/A

Played this for my daughter's 10th birthday party. We had 15 girls - they really got into it! Each one of them came in costume, and really stayed in character. The game was well designed, detailed, interactive, and engaging.

Used this for a group of Explorer Scouts aged 14 to 18. Gave fancy dress as an option and they got into it. We only had 1 . 45 hours and to really get it going another 30 mins would have been good. It does take a bit of working out too especially if you don’t want to print all the stuff. There was a lot of laughs too!

We did this party for my son’s 11th birthday party with 20 kids aged 7-13. They loved it! They all got dressed up and played their parts and could follow along with the plot.

We hosted a Mystery At The Museum party for my kids 12th birthday and it was a total hit! Since the kids knew ahead of time what their character was, they all committed and showed up in costume. They had a great time. My only suggestion would be to offer an actual "game" option to be shipped. Printing out all of the materials and character packs was time and ink consuming.

We did this for an 11 year old birthday party and it was fantastic. The kids came dressed in character and really got into it. So much fun! I would share pictures, but don't have permission from all of the parents. Definitely recommend!

Great! Last min idea that was the perfect ice breaker. I printed at home, used allot of ink and paper. Tip- Allow enough time and get it delivered!

The game was fantastic! We had a group of 11 year olds play for a birthday party (7 participants and one adult as the host). They all had a blast!

This was perfect for our girls night. The kids mystery game was easy to run and it was easy to make a full evening around it. The 4-14 players version suited us well. It was easy to pause between rounds for food. It made our usual get together feel much more special.

The kids mystery game made hosting really easy. It felt different from a normal party game, and I would definitely choose another theme. The 4-8 players version suited us well. We played between courses and it kept the evening moving.

The kids loved dressing up and figuring out who the culprit was.

I loved this experience as an elementary teacher. The only thing I would do next time is to show the villian the letter card, because even though I checked in secretly a few times, she thought I said another letter. It's a learning experience.

it was fun. Please make more kid friendly mysteries.
