L’affaire

*PRE-ORDER* Twelfth Knife: Christmas Murder Mystery Game – 12-Day Advent Calendar

Ravenscroft Hall, Christmas 1976.

Twelfth Knife is a Christmas cold case told across twelve nights. From 13 December, a new witness account unlocks every evening. Read it, break the lock at the end of it, and carry what you've learned into the next. By Twelfth Night you'll have heard from everyone who was in the house. Then you name the killer.

Three days before Christmas, Josiah Merritt, master of the house, is found dead on the library floor. The family doctor writes misadventure on the certificate. The family lets him. The Merritts keep twelve ornamental steel knives, one brought out of the case each night of the season to carve. By Twelfth Night, three are missing. One for each death.

Twelve people wrote down what they saw. Each one saw a piece of it. Each one left something out. Read one account a night, and by Twelfth Night you'll know who took the knives.

FAQ

Pour en savoir plus, consultez notre page d’aide et FAQ.

How do I receive my cold case file?

The moment you buy, you're given secure access to your case portal — sign in and reopen the dossier to examine, download or print every file. Choose a physical edition and a beautifully made boxed kit is also posted to your door.

How many people can play?

Play solo, or team up with a partner. Cold cases are a one or two-player investigation — ideal for date night or a quiet night in.

How long does it take?

Twelfth Knife runs across twelve nights. Night One unlocks on 13 December and a new witness account unlocks every evening through Christmas Eve. The finale and the Reckoning open with Night Twelve on Christmas Eve. Allow around 15 to 20 minutes a night.

Do I need to print anything?

Not at all — you can examine everything in your case portal on any device. Print the files if you'd like to spread the evidence out, or work from the posted kit with a physical edition.

What if I get stuck?

Every case includes a built-in hint system and a full solution, so you're never truly stuck.

Can I play it more than once?

Each case has one solution, so the reveal lands hardest the first time. Plenty of detectives go back through the evidence afterwards to catch what they walked straight past — and when you're ready for a fresh investigation, there's a whole library of cases waiting.

What device should I use?

For digital editions, a computer or tablet is best for examining the documents and photographs in detail. Physical editions come ready to spread out on the table.

What age is it suitable for?

Twelfth Knife is recommended for ages 15 and over. It is a murder mystery with mature themes, so it is best suited to older teens and adults.
