Murder Mystery Expansion Packs
You booked the perfect murder mystery, then two more friends said yes — and suddenly your carefully cast evening has nowhere left to seat them. That is exactly what our murder mystery expansion packs are for. Each add-on slots into a game you already own, bringing a set of brand-new suspects into the same story so everyone gets a character, a secret and a place at the table.
How expansion packs work
An expansion is an extension, not a standalone game. You keep the mystery, the setting and the ending you started with, and simply add extra players — so a party built for eight can grow to ten, twelve or beyond without losing the plot. The new characters are written to weave straight into the existing web of motives, which means more suspects to question, more alibis to unpick and more laughter round the table.
Because the murderer is still drawn at random once everyone has a role, adding guests never spoils the surprise — the host plays along too, and any character suits any guest regardless of the gender on the card. Whatever theme you own, from a 1920s speakeasy to a Wild West saloon, a masquerade ball or a Christmas gathering, there is a matching pack here to make room for the people who matter.
Which expansion do I need?
Always match the pack to the base game you bought — a Vampire Ball expansion adds guests to Vampire Ball, not to your spy caper. If you are starting from scratch, or want a bigger cast from the very beginning, browse our full range of murder mystery games or shop directly by number of players. Planning something really big? Our 21 to 30 player games are built for a crowd.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the original game to use an expansion pack?
Yes. An expansion adds extra characters to a game you already own — it does not include the core mystery, so you will need the matching base game to play.
How many extra players does a murder mystery expansion pack add?
It varies by title, but each pack brings a set of additional characters so you can seat more guests. Check the individual product page for the exact number that pack adds.
Will the extra characters fit the story?
They are written specifically for that mystery, so new suspects slot naturally into the existing plot with their own motives, secrets and connections to the original cast.
Can I add more than one expansion to the same game?
Where a game offers more than one pack you can stack them for an even larger party. Check the game's own product page to see which expansions are available for it.
