Mystery At Monster Mansion

Madsy Entist, the world-famous eccentric inventor, has invited all the monsters she knows to a party at her haunted mansion. And what a group she has invited! Count Dracula, the Wicked Witch of the West, the Phantom of the Opera—they’ll all be there, plus many more shambling, oozing, grunting outcasts.

At the party, Madsy intends to unveil her latest invention, “NORMALLO,” a potion that can turn any monster into a normal human being with just a swallow. But what’s this? Someone has stolen the only bottle!

Who among all the creeps and ghouls at the mansion tonight could have done it?

What is the best Monster Mansion murder mystery game?
Can I play this Monster Mansion murder mystery game with 10 people?
Is this Monster Mansion murder mystery game available for virtual play or in-person events?

This edition is a physical boxed kit, designed for hosting an in-person Halloween dinner party where guests gather around the table at the haunted Monster Mansion.

If you would prefer to play remotely over video call, a digital and printable version of this Monster Mansion mystery is also available, which is better suited to virtual play and instant access.

How long does it take to play this Monster Mansion murder mystery game?

A game of Mystery At Monster Mansion typically takes between 1.5 and 3 hours to play, making it an ideal centrepiece for a Halloween dinner party or evening gathering.

The exact length depends on your group size, how much your guests get into character, and whether you pause for food and drinks between rounds. Larger groups and enthusiastic monsters tend to stretch the mystery towards the longer end.

What is included in the Monster Mansion murder mystery game kit?

Mystery At Monster Mansion arrives as a physical boxed kit, posted directly to your door and ready to host straight out of the box. Everything you need to run the evening is included, so there is nothing to print or download.

Inside the box you will find a Host Guide Booklet, Ghost Detective audio files, an Evidence Book, individual Character Booklets, a Costume Suggestions Booklet and Invitation Booklets to send out to your guests.

Together these guide you through setting the scene at the haunted Monster Mansion, handing out characters, sharing clues and revealing whodunnit, all with easy step-by-step instructions for the host.

Can I play this Monster Mansion murder mystery game more than once?

Yes. Mystery At Monster Mansion is fully replayable, which is one of its standout features.

The murderer is chosen at random each time you play, so the culprit changes from one game night to the next. That means you can host the same monsters, swap characters between friends, and enjoy a fresh outcome every single time without ever knowing whodunnit in advance.

What events or occasions is this Monster Mansion murder mystery game suitable for?

With its haunted mansion setting and cast of classic monsters, this game is made for Halloween. It is a perfect centrepiece for a Halloween dinner party, fancy dress night or spooky-season celebration.

It also works brilliantly for adult game nights, birthdays, get-togethers with friends and family gatherings where you want an interactive, memorable evening of intrigue and fun.

What is the recommended age group for this Monster Mansion murder mystery game?

Mystery At Monster Mansion is recommended for players aged 14 and over.

With a medium difficulty level, it suits teenagers, adults and mixed-age groups who enjoy a bit of a challenge as they follow the clues and unmask the culprit. It is a great fit for older family game nights as well as grown-up Halloween parties.

Do players need to dress up in costumes for this Monster Mansion murder mystery?

Costumes are entirely optional, but they are warmly encouraged and add enormously to the spooky Halloween atmosphere at Monster Mansion.

Each character is a classic monster, so guests can dress as a vampire, mummy, werewolf, witch, zombie or any other ghoul from the cast. The kit includes a Costume Suggestions Booklet with generic monster ideas to help everyone look the part, though the mystery plays perfectly well whether or not you dress up.

Can I add more players or characters to this Monster Mansion murder mystery game?

This kit is built to accommodate up to 20 adults, with a wide cast of classic monsters ranging from Count Dracula and Frankenstein to Medusa, the Mummy King and Queen, and the Wicked Witch of the West.

You can scale the game to your guest list by using as many or as few of the included characters as you need. If you would like to grow beyond the characters supplied, expansion packs are available for many Masters of Mystery games to add extra players and roles.
