The Great Bake Down!

World renown baker, author, and artisan chef Barry Merry is finally retiring after over 40 years and 40 bakeries, opened up in 40 countries, and he’s giving one lucky person the chance of a lifetime. The keys to this multi-million-pound business. Do you know what that means?

It’s time for a Bake Down!

A televised competition where the best bakers from around the world bake off against each other in weekly challenges that test their creative kitchen skills. Each week, they earn points for their bakes and, at the end of the competition, the baker with the most points wins the coveted golden key and will gain access to the entire Barry Merry bakery franchise.

We are in the final weeks, and Lennon Drizzle is the front runner with the most points, closely followed by Ed Velvet. One more challenge will crown the winner who will inherit the company.

Come join the baking competition of a lifetime, meet other competitors and try and figure out the best way to win, or prevent someone from winning….

A bake-off themed murder mystery is a delectable choice for those seeking light-hearted drama with a sprinkle of sabotage. Set during a high-stakes amateur baking competition, this genre of mystery invites players to step into the roles of competitive bakers, quirky judges, and meddling assistants. When a shocking death disrupts the contest, the tent turns from sugar and spice to secrets and scandal. With richly developed characters, culinary-themed clues, and a storyline packed with floury twists, this game offers the perfect recipe for an unforgettable night of interactive entertainment—ideal for foodies, party lovers, and mystery fans alike.

Yes – the bake-off murder mystery game is well suited for 10 players. The base version includes enough distinct roles to accommodate groups of 4–14 participants, making it perfect for your party size. With character types ranging from overconfident bakers to meticulous judges and behind-the-scenes organizers, each player becomes a central part of the competition and the mystery. If your guest list fluctuates, the flexible character design makes it easy to adapt. A 10-person group strikes a great balance between intimacy and intrigue—plenty of secrets to uncover without overwhelming the host.

Yes – this mystery works seamlessly for both in-person and virtual formats. Whether you're hosting an elegant dinner party in your dining room or gathering friends for a digital bake-off via video call, the game’s structure remains consistent and engaging. Characters and clues are easy to share, and the theme translates well across formats thanks to its universally loved setting. Whether players are dressed in aprons at home or appearing onscreen from their kitchens, the mix of culinary chaos and comedy holds strong in any setting.

Expect to spend between 1.5 to 3 hours playing, depending on the size of your group and how deeply players embrace their roles. Most games wrap up in about 2 to 2.5 hours, though smaller groups might finish faster and larger gatherings with breaks may take closer to 3. The format is flexible—you can structure the pacing to match a full dinner party, incorporate dessert tasting rounds, or even host costume contests between clue reveals. Whether quick or leisurely, the mystery blends fun and flavor into an engaging evening of entertainment.

This mystery kit provides everything you need to serve up suspense with a side of sponge cake. Included are:

Yes – the game is built to be replayable. Since the murderer can be different each time, and interactions vary depending on which characters are present, each session feels unique. Even players familiar with the basic setup will find new surprises through different role assignments or a change in group dynamics. Whether you’re hosting again for new guests or reprising the game at a future gathering, the flexibility and rotating villain mechanic ensure lasting entertainment value.

This themed mystery is perfect for a wide range of events where interactive fun and sweet rivalry are on the menu. Ideal settings include:

– Great for teens and adults who love baking shows or competitive games.

– Pair the mystery with courses or a cake buffet for a full sensory experience.

– Encourages creativity and communication in a light-hearted environment.

– A fun and memorable group activity with a humorous twist.

– Especially relevant for food lovers or fans of cozy mysteries.

– Add flair to Easter, Christmas, or even Valentine’s Day with a themed event.

It’s a flexible choice that elevates any social occasion with laughter, interaction, and just a pinch of drama.

The game is recommended for players aged 15 and above. It’s best suited to teens and adults who can appreciate the subtle humour, character complexity, and strategic clue-solving. While there’s no graphic content, the game’s format requires reading comprehension, some light improvisation, and the ability to stay in role. It's a great choice for birthday parties, family game nights, or adult gatherings where everyone’s ready to stir up some kitchen-side chaos.

Costumes are not required, but they add a lot of flavor to the event! Players are encouraged to come dressed as their character—a flamboyant baking star, a stuffy judge, a quirky culinary assistant, or a health-conscious food blogger. The game provides wardrobe inspiration within the character briefs, but even simple additions like a chef hat, apron, or a punny nametag can boost immersion. Dressing up adds to the atmosphere, sparks fun photo ops, and makes the mystery all the more memorable.

Yes – the game supports up to 20 players with the help of expansion packs. The base version includes a set number of characters, and if your guest list grows, you can add more roles designed to integrate naturally into the baking competition. Each additional character comes with their own secrets and potential motives, enriching the overall plot. Whether you’re hosting a smaller kitchen party or a full 20-person tent showdown, the format remains balanced and engaging. Please note that 20 is the maximum number of roles supported for this theme.

Yes – the host can absolutely join in the fun. The game is structured so the murderer is kept secret until the end, allowing the host to assign roles and participate without knowing the outcome in advance. Alternatively, the host can take on a special character—such as the competition coordinator or an enigmatic sponsor—who helps guide the rounds in character. The setup is beginner-friendly, so you can focus on running a smooth event while still enjoying the twists, laughs, and bake-off-style banter right alongside your guests.
