A Christmas Mash-Up Murder
The holidays can be stressful for all of us—but they’re especially hard on the people who reenact a Christmas story every year for our entertainment. So good old Ebenezer Scrooge has started a “Holiday Derangement Syndrome” therapy group for characters from pop culture to get together and talk about their feelings.
Scrooge decides to act as therapist himself, since he knows all about the mixed feelings Christmas can bring. He is leading characters like the Grunch, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Shawn McClane through a discussion of what Christmas means to them when the lights suddenly go out.
There is a strange gurgling sound in the darkness, and when the lights come back on—Scrooge is dead with a sprig of holly through his heart! Was he killed by someone who was concerned about the secrets he knew? Someone who was scared of the direction the discussion was taking? Or maybe it was—YOU!

We have a Murder Mystery night on Boxing Day (December 26th) every year. Christmas Murder was our 2nd Masters of Mystery purchase and it did not disappoint!!
We had so much fun, and the game was so easily followed with the scripts and video supplements.
Customer service was EXCEPTIONAL, as I had a last minute situation and received not only an immediate email response (on a weekend) but a quick resolution to my problem!
Having hosted many Murder Mystery Nights, I most definitely recommend ordering a Mystery game from Masters of Mystery!
We had so much fun dressing up and acting out this Murder Mystery! Highly recommend it and we will be doing another! I had bought the game package months in advance and the night before the event as I went to review everything one last time, I couldn't find the downloaded links. I emailed their help service and within minutes I recieved a response back with a link to all my content! A fun experience and wonderful customer service!
What a fun experience! My family of 14 tried to solve the murder of Scrooge on Christmas Eve and it was an incredibly memorable night. The download process is seamless, instructions are clear, the audio and video aspects were amazing. Would highly recommend.
We all had a fabulous time. We decorated the house, dressed up, and enjoyed a Christmas feast whilst playing and laughing all night!.
It was a wonderful way to spend quality time with family and no-one missed the television or their phone. We’ve been asked host another Murder night which we look forward to.
We had a blast with this party! We had players from 10 yrs old to 79 years old and everyone played their parts with enthusiasm and fun! The instructions were clear and the costume suggestions were very helpful.
It took a fair amount of prep to make it go smoothly the first time we played. The second time was much easier. Everyone had fun and it was reasonably priced for the details of the game and videos, etc provided. We used it as a staff Christmas party and everyone enjoyed dressing you and playing along!
Our friends had a BLAST during our murder mystery dinner we hosted using this pack. I wish the questions were a little different and not variations of the same question or the exact same question for certain rounds. Regardless, we all still had a great time!
9 of us played
It was fun and easy to prepare. I printed out each character profile and made booklets for each of them. I messed up a little by not differentiating between the 6 and 9 when drawing numbers to see who the killer was, but we got through it alright. We'll definitely be playing again.
The kit made everything easy and smooth. It literally detailed every single thing you needed and timed out. The hardest part for me was Just printing out all the papers but it was great once I did and everyone was able to read from their script! We did add a fun element in Round 3. We set up a “confession cam” with my phone on camera in a private room where no one could hear and each. Character went in individually and told who they thought the murderer was!
It didn’t have a flow, and a lot of the questions or answers were the same.
It was ok but not sure I would do it again.
The customer support was wonderful.
5 STARS!!!
Our family had a blast doing this murder mystery event! We laughed so hard. The scripts were good and the fact that we (the hosts) didn't know who the killer was made even more fun!!
We had the BEST time at our leadership Church Christmas party with a full-blown murder mystery .🎄🔍
Everyone came in character… and they did not disappoint.
The Grinch showed up (surprisingly social), along with sweet Cindy Lou Who.
Santa and Mrs. Claus made their grand entrance—very official, very festive. Buddy the Elf was a little bossy and slightly rude (on brand), but we were still glad he came 😅
Instead of Ebenezer Scrooge, his sister Elaine-ezer Scrooge arrived—and we’re so thankful she did, because she ran the game like a pro.
Mr. & Mrs. Cratchit came looking adorable as ever, though they left their eight children at home (understandable).
Rudolph showed up with Mr. Griswold—and his mismatched outfit says, “When laundry day meets confidence.”
Detective Sean came in hot… nervous, aggressive, and wildly over the top. Thankfully, he brought the Sugar Plum Fairy along, which softened him just a bit
Thank you so much fun!
We played this for my daughter’s December birthday and everyone enjoyed it. Several guest said they wanted to host another one in January! It was awesome
Had such a fun night with 9 couples! Everyone did a great job with their costumes and once things got started people got more animated. Fun night and would definitely do another one sometime!
The entire group had a great time with this game! It was easy to follow and I liked that it was easy to add or drop people last minute. The costumes and characters were fun and I got high reviews from my friends that joined in.
Had a good time with the family. Changed Christmas up a bit and added this to the festivities. Was fun dressing up as the characters. Enjoyed our family that couldn't be home to participate in the fun as well.
We did this on Christmas Eve with my extended family and it was such a lovely way to spend the evening. Most people worked it out but I still have no idea how they worked it out. It was great that we didn't know who was the murderer going in and that the host could play along. I would say it works better if you have a gossipey phase where everyone can mill or preparing a second course of dinner. We were all just sat in the lounge together in small groups that swapped so it felt a bit artificial. The team were so nice, I bought the 4-8 version but desperately wanted to be the sugar plum fairy as I had the perfect outfit and they sent me that character for free which was really lovely. I can see that this could work well in person or on teams if you need it to!
We had SO much fun playing the Christmas murder mystery for my birthday! Everyone had fun getting dressed up in character. The night went perfectly. I'm thinking of doing another one for my birthday next year. What a blast!
We had an amazing time! We turned this into a surprise murder mystery birthday party for my husband. Everyone dressed up and brought their characters to life perfectly! I would highly recommend this game!
